NEW VEC POST-PRIMARY SCHOOL, DUNDALK

Co. Louth VEC is currently inviting parents/guardians to register their support should they wish to see the VEC become the new patron body/management authority of the proposed new post-primary school for Dundalk. The school is planned to open its doors in September 2014.

Co. Louth Vocational Education Committee welcomes the recent announcement by the Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Ruairí Quinn, T.D., to establish a new post-primary school in Dundalk. Co. Louth VEC wishes to become the patron body of this new school in recognition of the huge and growing demand from parents and students for the educational experience that the VEC  provides across the county.

Co. Louth VEC is the main education authority in the county and over the last 80 years has educated generations of people. Our track record in education  is widely recognised. We have extensive experience and expertise in running colleges, schools and centres for education that leave us ideally suited to manage the proposed new post-primary school for Dundalk.

Our vision for the new school is spelt out below in the form of our 10 point plan. The new school under our patronage will be co-educational, multi-denominational, student centred, accountable to its community and, further, would subscribe to the following:
